Tonight at Gurtrudes Jazz Bar was an experience. I’ve realized once again how important music is to me. The jazz bar is a place where I’m able to freely jam and be followed by other musicians of all sorts of walks. There’s not really another spot like it in town and I’m incredibly grateful for it. Tonight Carl and I jammed a few songs, he sang and I played lead/backups. Afterward an older drummer came up to me and asked if I could play some faster paced rock or blues stuff with him. We convinced Carl to play bass with us. Jamming out around four progressions, a few friends yelled out for me to sing some originals as well. It was refreshing to get on stage again, it’s been a while…
